FlatPack containers are modules with the world’s widest application. A great deal of temporary and permanent settlements is built with this system. The system is characterized by the possibility of sending a residential module in the packed “transpak” (“flat pack”) shape and in that way allowing 6-8 modules to fit in a standard tow truck, depending on the thickness of the insulated walls. The equipment and sanitary ware partially fit in the packages, and the rest is packed in special tow trucks.
FlatPack modules are ideal for the construction of complex facilities – pavilions at greater distances. Because of the assembly speed and quality, they are ideal for temporary housing units of medium capacity, such as settlements for workers and refugees. With a little architectural skill, dormitories, hotels and hostels can be built just as well with this system. Schools and preschools have been built with this system for a while, especially in regions where the populace varies.
CONSTRUCTION
A galvanized construction from cold galvanized 3mm sheet metal guarantees a very long lifespan of the container. The additional zincopox (epoxy + 80% zinc) protection in the area of joints and a complete polyurethane colour protection by the German brand MIPA gives extra durability to the whole construction system. This is especially important for pavilions with multiple floors, and pavilions in general when the additional protection during exploitation is extremely hampered.
ROOF
The layered roof has 0,5 mm plasticized galvanized sheet metal on top, soft mineral wool of 18-25 kg/m3 thickness in the middle and 10mm refined particleboard on the ceiling. The roof has a bearing capacity of 100kg/m2. In the roof there are corners for lifting with couplings for columns, electrical installations and lighting.
WALLS
The walls are sandwich panel walls of 60, 80 and 100mm thickness with a 0,5mm plasticized galvanized sheet metal on both sides and a filling of wool stone of 100kg/m3 density or polyurethane of 35kg/m3 density. The stone wool is used when fireproofing is needed, and when that is not the case, polyurethane panel is used. The ratio of insulation: 60mm polyurethane panel has the same insulation power as the 100mm stone wool. There are ducts for cables, sockets and switches on the walls.
FLOOR
The floor is comprised of 2mm PVC glued to a 20mm layer of eco panel (or waterproof plywood – film faced waterproof plywood or cement board) that is water and fireproof. Underneath the board is a layer of 100mm soft stone wool of 18-25 kg/m3 density, and underneath the wool a vapor permeable floor dam and lastly, a 0,5mm plasticized galvanized steel sheet metal in the shape of a small trapeze.
DOORS AND WINDOWS
PVC REHAU doors and windows with outstanding characteristics and durability. The hardware is from the famous German brand GU-BKS, and with GUARDIAN glass. These high-quality doors and windows insure permanent functionality of the future facility.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS
In most cases they are installed on wall panels during production. Upon the customer’s request, fireproof-incombustible cables can also be installed. Those are, of course, much more expensive. Fluorescent lights are installed directly into the ceiling, as well as a PVC switchboard with fuses.
SANITARY WARE
Only preparations for instalment and the drilling of necessary holes are done, if their positions are known on time. Because of transportation, they are installed on the field. The tiles are glued only to the floor.
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
Panel radiators: usually of 2KW strength, places for the sockets and the installment are prepared
Air conditioners: are usually installed on the field, and frequently they are procured in a shop, because of the warranty and servicing
Water heaters: can be regular 50 and 60 liters and also big 300 liters, preparations are made and they are assembled on the field.
Stairs and platforms: are manufactured for climbing on storeys
Slanted roof: is most frequently added to pavilions with a planned period for mounting of over 10 years, and in areas with increased snowfall;
Parapet: a decorative horizontal cover that hides the roof and couplings on storeys is an important part of the system and gives the pavilion a more serious and nicer look. If the roof is being constructed, then the parapet only done on the couplings of storeys.
Other equipment: on special request a lot of additional equipment can be added, but that is not common.
